Group chats are read

Published 19 October 2026

Until this change a group chat was skipped on both channels: Telegram and WhatsApp read your one-to-one conversations and left every group alone.

From 19 October 2026 groups are read, if you ask for them.

  • You choose in the setup wizard whether a connected account's groups are read beside its one-to-one chats. Nothing changes for an account that did not ask.
  • A group gets a note of its own. What was said in it is kept there, under the group's name.
  • Everyone who writes in a group gets a person note, so the people you meet only in groups are in your memory too.
  • The busiest groups are read at night for the projects and promises in them.

How each channel reads a group, and what it skips, is on the Telegram and WhatsApp connector pages.
